I enjoyee the Ripple Effect (book one) immensely in fact so much that I ordered book 2!
The pace was page turning, the world building was very effective, and the strategic predicaments were very thought-provoking both for the character and for myself when I put myself in her shoes, which was very easy to do.
Book 2 seems to start out kind of dark and I'm very intrigued about where it's going to go. Again I put myself in her shoes and try to imagine what it would be like for me. No, no, no!
Thanks so much for the series it must have been fun to write ??
No spoilers. This is the first time I have read a book by this author. There were some things I really liked and a couple of things I didn't. One of the pros is that this book finally addresses the "ripples" and changes that could take place in the future if you alter anything in the past. (i.e., there is a consequence and so many things are connected in ways that we cannot see.) I have read many time traveling books and very rarely do any of them actually address the possibility of things changing due to choices they make while in the past. This book does! So, this actually made the storyline seem more realistic and complicated (in an intriguing way). Also, I wasn't sure how the story would end because of that factor.I didn't like some of the agenda or political thoughts that were pushed a bit in this book (more in the second book). They were minor, but a little too obvious, and it pulled me out of the story a bit in those moments. I also didn't like the ending of this book as it was somewhat abrupt. However, I continued on to the next book, and so the story "continued on" since I didn't have to wait for the second book to come out. So, it wasn't a big deal in the end...and it's NOT a reason for another reader to avoid the book.Overall, I enjoyed this book. It held my interest and definitely made me want to continue with the second book (and I'm glad I did. I'll review that book separately).
Just like the first book, this book has all the mystery and suspense that us readers need to remain hooked. Our girl Caitlin has to choose to make certain steps in order to keep herself safe and others. And it all makes us hypothesis as to why this has happened to her? Right now I'm just interested how the next book comes along. Thanks.
